Boats for 12 - 14 people, Programs from
1 to 3 days, from US$ 250 |
|
It is a new way to visit Laguna San Rafael from Bahía Exploradores, now connected by road from Puerto Río Tranquilo, at Lake General Carrera, about 220 km south of Coyhaique in the Carretera Austral.
It is a more adventurous trip in a small boat for 12-14 people. It is less comfortable but provides a more intimate experience. The overnight programs with lodging on the shores of Laguna San Rafael, include a walk through the forest towards a viewpoint overlooking the glacier.
Important:
Due to the characteristics of the small launch, the excursion cannot take place with strong winds and waves. We suggest to consider alternative dates for doing this excursion, if possible.

3 Days/2 Night: Live and Navigate San Rafael (by Zodiac) |
An extra day is added to the previous program "Living and Feeling San Rafael", to explore the shores of the laguna on day 2 by navigation in the zodiac.
Duration: 3 days and 2 nights.
Activity: Navigation in launch and zodiac, contemplation and
trekking
Description: Days 1 and 3 are the same as in the previous program.
On day 2 of our excursion, we will have breakfast between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. and prepare for a day of adventure in the water, touring the lesser-known and seldom-visited corners of Laguna San Rafael on our zodiac. Depending on the weather conditions, we will look for the leopard seal, the elephant seal and the various species of sea and land birds that can be observed in this sector.
Lunch will be in a picnic format and is adapted to the group's mood. It could be on land or the zodiac if we have found an animal or scenery that we want to enjoy since the idea of this program is to get even closer to the nature that this National Park offers. We will end the day contemplating the glacier wall, enjoying a unique view of the icebergs at sunset, immersed in the immensity and silence of the landscape. We will return to the campsite and enjoy a farewell dinner before we go to sleep in the Lotus Belle tents.
On our third day, we will do the Full Day towards the wall of the San Rafael glacier and return to Bahía Exploradores.
